It finally snowed in Bath!

This is my last weekend in Bath. I probably won't see it at all after this Sunday because I'll be working all week and leaving early Saturday morning. After my last pilates class, I had lunch at one of my favorite places, then just wandered around a bit. This is my favorite spot in Bath - standing on the Parade Bridge looking towards the Pultney Bridge - and I couldn't leave without visiting it again. It's best at night when it is lit up. The view has actually taken my breath away. This is a picture I took back in the fall and I plan on printing and framing it when I get to Dublin. Fortunately we have friends here and will be back to visit!

My housemates are off on a ski trip early tomorrow morning, so today was my last chance to see them before I move next weekend!

Wes and I had some very good friends over for dinner on Saturday. Stef is a long time family friend who I hadn't seen for oh, 12 years or so before I moved to England. Then one day my mom was talking to her mom about my moving to England and we found out that Stef was living about 5 miles from me. It's been awesome having her here because it does feel like I have family close by. Unfortunately her husband wasn't able to make it. Becky was my first American friend in Bath. We met on UK-Yankee before we both moved and when I got here we met at Starbucks for a coffee and well, the rest is history! And her husband, Sean? Well, he's Scottish, loves American football, and makes beer-butt chicken on the grill. Pete was Wes's housemate when he lived in Sheffield. Pete and his lovely girlfriend, Jen, moved to Bath this year as Pete was starting a PhD at the uni. They kept my cats for 2 weeks this summer. I am forever indebted to them for that one!

The worst thing about moving is leaving your friends. :(

I had to cheat on this one so everyone would be in the pictures! I also didn't take them. So it's an ubercheat!

It snowed! It snowed! Bath is pathetic when it comes to snowfall. Bristol is worse. My coworker said a gypsy put a curse on the city and now it won't get any snow. I suggested that perhaps it's because the city is warm and it's not a curse. My theory seems to be hogwash.

Walking by the canal. It's not the nicest backdrop, but it was a good place to set up the camera! Oh, and the background is washed out because the sun was actually out!!!

Wes and I went for a walk around Bath. The sun finally came out and it was a really nice evening. It was days like today that make me sad to leave. I've been really fortunate to have the opportunity to live in this beautiful city!

There's been an icy fog hanging over Bath for the past 2 days. You know it's cold when you can actually see it!

I passed this today in town. I've never noticed it before and I've walked down that street a hundred times. It was in a weird place and the plaque said it had been re-erected in the 1970s in honor of the Bath Technical College.

Trying (but failing) to be artsy with the fairy lights in Kingsmead Square. I also failed on the theme of the week which was 'color'.

The fog hangs over the River Avon early in the morning. I'm going to miss my bus ride to work when I move. It's really beautiful.

I was back in the ol' hood this morning. I really miss living over there.

When I first moved to England I found the street lights creepy and not effective. I was nervous when I was out after dark (which could be 5pm) because they cast an eerie glow. I still find them creepy and not effective, but I will go out after dark now!

Living in Bath means you can take touristy pictures and no one thinks you're weird. These ladies were being filmed in front of the Abbey, probably for some promo video.

This house in Bath has a vine that turns a really beautiful red color in the fall. Yes, it's fall here people. I actually passed it twice today on the bus and both times we were traveling at mach speed. Since these are the only pictures I took today, this is what you get. I like to think of it, not as washed out and blurry, but as an abstract. Part of my blurry bus collection.

I think this is my favorite pub sign of all time. It's 3D!

My view as I waited for the bus after the gym. I was feeling pretty uninspired today. What you can't tell is how dark it was getting at only 8pm! :-(

These people have a lovely garden! This is just one little bit of it. It's really difficult to photograph because it actually wraps around the house.

The sun on the hills behind my house. I am forever taking pictures of these, but the pictures never do it justice.
