There's been an icy fog hanging over Bath for the past 2 days. You know it's cold when you can actually see it!

Tuesday 30 December 2008

262/365

Waiting at the bus stop and freezing our arses off!!! Wes had no hat and God took his natural one away. I told him he must have done something naughty! Ha!

Sunday 28 December 2008

261/365

Boats at twilight while we're waiting to leave Crosshaven.

Saturday 27 December 2008

260/365

Crosshaven harbour. It's the home of the oldest yacht club in the world.

Friday 26 December 2008

259/365

I rarely cheat, but I couldn't decide which picture to use for today. We went for a walk to Myrtleville beach. The first picture is the house where Wes grew up. They moved when he was 18. I like the color! The second one is Myrtleville. It was freakin' freezin'!!!

Thursday 25 December 2008

258/365

Christmas madness! How many cell phones do you see in this picture?? Dean is tickling Wes with Mr. Tickles. Everyone needs a tickle! Santa brought Dean 'millions' for Christmas. He even sent something from 'Merica'! He's excited to come to 'Merica' and go to the zoo and the 'quarium'.

Wednesday 24 December 2008

257/365

There is a Romanian woman on the other side of this gentleman. She was running this creepy Christmas display on a street in Cork. The dolls were kicking ferociously to some music.

Tuesday 23 December 2008

256/365

Trying to get a picture of the crazy Christmas crowds on Henry Street in Dublin. The 'Stiletto in the Ghetto' almost ruined it!

Monday 22 December 2008

255/365

So much cookie baking and getting ready for Christmas has made me exhausted. I was so happy to see this at the end of the day!

Sunday 21 December 2008

254/365

More cookies!!! It's not Christmas without these!

Saturday 20 December 2008

253/365

When my sister gave me this sugar cookie (or as they call them, 'fat cookie') recipe she said, 'It makes a huge amount!'. Uh, no kidding! The batter bowl was filled to the top! I thought my hand mixer was going to crap out! I'm determined to bring a Christmas treat into the office that isn't a mince pie.

Friday 19 December 2008

252/365

Ahh the work Christmas do! Dylan is showing off his jaunty silk tie. This is after he combed his hair with a fork. Apparently that's how they do it in the West Country. See the guy behind him? We think he might have been a pimp. Seriously.

Thursday 18 December 2008

251/365

Oh the guilt! They have to be locked in the kitchen when my housemate works a late shift. Obie has a nasty habit of banging on doors. They'll come up to the door and stare at me when I'm leaving for work.

Wednesday 17 December 2008

250/365

This picture is the result of a conversation I had a couple of days ago, but I can't get it out of my mind. A couple of my friends are from Cyprus and I was over at their house the other night. They don't very often ask me things about America, but he asked if we actually have the little white boxes for our Chinese food like they have in the movies. I've never been asked that one before! Chinese food here comes in plastic containers. When I told him yes he thought that was the coolest thing. And you know what, I think he's right!

Tuesday 16 December 2008

249/265

This picture disturbs me so much. I came around to chat to a work colleague and this was on the desk behind him, standing up just like this. I'm hoping the person bought it as a gift for someone, but honestly I can't be too sure! There's a huge poster inside of it too. *shudder*

Monday 15 December 2008

248/365

She was using the remote as her little pillow! So cute!

Sunday 14 December 2008

247/365

Used my new ear plugs at the pool today. They don't work. >:-(

Saturday 13 December 2008

246/365

I passed this today in town. I've never noticed it before and I've walked down that street a hundred times. It was in a weird place and the plaque said it had been re-erected in the 1970s in honor of the Bath Technical College.

Friday 12 December 2008

245/365

Here's Little Kitty observing the Christmas tree. We both miss our own decorations currently in storage. :-(

Thursday 11 December 2008

244/365 - Entryways

This is an old boot scraper next to a door in Bristol. I pass it when I leave the bus station. It tickles me because you probably have to go about 2 miles to get enough mud on your boot that would require a scraper. So much of Bristol was rebuilt after the war that it's nice when you see things like this.

Wednesday 10 December 2008

243/365

This is what it looked like when I was leaving the house at 7:15 to get the bus. This is also what it looked like when I left the office at 4:30 this afternoon. The English try to tell you it's bearable because you get long summers where it stays bright until 10pm and it all equals out. This doesn't mesh in my eyes. I'd rather have days of average length all year round!

Tuesday 9 December 2008

242/365

Clearly I was at a loss for a picture today. My work mates suggested I take a picture of Sam's little collection he has going on his desk. His girlfriend brings him stuff back from work fairs, so besides Stampy and Stapley (who isn't as mean as his eyes let on), you'll find an array of stress relievers and a calculator that flips itself open with one touch of the button. Oh, and the paper clip holder that looks like a faucet. That one is my favorite!

Monday 8 December 2008

241/365

Danger! Danger! I gave in to the weakness today. This is bad because these M&Ms are earmarked for some Christmas goodies. I can't afford to eat them all now!

Sunday 7 December 2008

240/365

It's cold outside! Or so I presume since I haven't been out. This frost stuck around all day.

Saturday 6 December 2008

239/365

I hate street performers like this. They totally creep me out.

Friday 5 December 2008

238/365

Raul was a total Scrooge when some of the girls at work were decorating the office for Christmas. So we decorated his desk for him while he was at lunch. Here he is talking on his freshly tinseled phone.

Thursday 4 December 2008

237/365

Trying (but failing) to be artsy with the fairy lights in Kingsmead Square. I also failed on the theme of the week which was 'color'.

Wednesday 3 December 2008

236/365

I was getting something off the printer at work and I saw this. I thought it was hilarious! Can you tell I work at a government agency??

Tuesday 2 December 2008

235/365

Started thinking about this kind of stuff today.

Monday 1 December 2008

234/365

I wore my new purple shoes today! :-) I'm on a mission now to find wedding shoes with a kitten heel like these. They are soooo comfy!

Sunday 30 November 2008

233/365

It's not pretty, but it's secure!

Saturday 29 November 2008

232/365

Emma bought the CUTEST sewing box at Cath Kidson to give as a Christmas present.

Friday 28 November 2008

231/365

After taking a Claritin, Emma gets comfy with her inhaler, tissues, and a book. Ahhh....nothing better than a weekend at Kim's!

Thursday 27 November 2008

230/365 - Signs

This is my sign that winter is here: Little Kitty tucks herself up under the radiator!

Wednesday 26 November 2008

229/365

My new favorite veg!

Tuesday 25 November 2008

228/365

Emma's coming for the weekend. I need a list!

Monday 24 November 2008

227/365

I gave this to my housemate today as a thank you for driving me to the airport last week. I think it's really cute....especially his corn cob pipe!

Sunday 23 November 2008

226/365

Headed up the boring highway to Newark airport. This should be the last time my parents have to pick me up there! I will be able to fly direct from Dublin to Dulles or Philly from now on!

Saturday 22 November 2008

225/365

We had Thanksgiving on Saturday since we were leaving on Sunday. Here is the star of the day!!! I don't normally care for turkey, but this one was delish!

Friday 21 November 2008

224/365

SNOW!!!

Thursday 20 November 2008

223/365 - Happiness

I was caught up with everything today and I forgot to take a picture. The theme of the week was happiness and I was just so happy the whole week I felt overwhelmed to try and put it into one picture. One thing we did today was pick out the cake. We're actually going to have cupcakes which I've wanted from the start, so I"m really happy about that. This is a sample cake from the bakery we're using. I didn't take this picture, it was taken by Amanda Kraft Photography and I took it from the bakery's website. The cakes we tried were YUM!!!

Wednesday 19 November 2008

222/365

I finally got my engagement ring!!! Squeee!!! This picture fails to show just how sparkly it is! Wes did VERY well! :-)

Tuesday 18 November 2008

221/365

I love this picture. I was in Baltimore running some errands and saw this when I was sitting at an intersection. It was on the side of a derelict building in Fell's Point.

Monday 17 November 2008

220/365

A beautiful ginkgo tree in front of the shoe repair shop. When I went back to pick up the shoes on Wednesday I couldn't find the place because the leaves had all blown off.

Sunday 16 November 2008

219/365

It took me an hour and 15 minutes to pick this out at Michael's. I'm not very crafty.

Saturday 15 November 2008

218/365

We picked out the bridesmaid and flower girl dresses in record time, then topped off the day with lunch at TGI Fridays. I actually went there twice on this trip home. Weird.

Friday 14 November 2008

217/365

My gorgeous invitations! The pictures don't do them justice!

Thursday 13 November 2008

216/365 - Gluttony

The theme of the week this week was the 7 Deadly Sins. I picked 'gluttony' because, well, it was the easiest one for me to do! It's been a busy week so unfortunately I couldn't get too creative. However, I couldn't have picked more perfect subjects for the picture!

Wednesday 12 November 2008

215/365

First Christmas lights of the season! Sorry about the poor quality picture, but actually the picture does depict the display fairly accurately. I feel a little creepy taking a picture of a stranger's house, so I don't want to stand out there too long trying to get the best setting for my camera.
