Now my cats are not 'cat toy' animals. Little Kitty loves her paper balls, and Obie, well, he likes to ruin a good game of paper ball. I don't waste my money on buying them toys they don't use. So, my lovely neighbor at my old flat bought my cats this toy to play with. They batted it around for a day, smelled the cat nip in it for awhile, then it lost its luster. Imagine my surprise when about a year later they rediscovered it! They can't get enough of it and they play with it like crazy! Strange.

This is my closet. My sister and I were talking about the new closet my brother in law built for her. It's not a walk-in, but it's a step-in. Please note the highlights of my closet: the big pile of shoes at the bottom has been sorted, honest, there's just not enough room. See how the dresses and long coats are scrunched up at the bottom? Yeah, even when the shoes aren't there the closest isn't high enough. The only thing that's stepping in to my closet is my cat and even he can barely move around in there!

I got this in the mail today. It's a thank you card from my friends Emily and Zak who were married in April. The DVD is an inside joke. I believe it was one of the scientists at SERC who called us Mutt and Jeff once. This is because I'm a shorty and Emily is a giant.

New cookbooks! Well, new to me. Gavin gave them to me because apparently none of his British friends appreciate Alton Brown. Their loss!

This picture doesn't fully reflect the poor state of my nails. I miss Estelle. :-(

A smoke extractor in the window. These are on all sorts of buildings: offices, pubs, and shops. I can't imagine working in an office where people would have been allowed to smoke at their desks. Gross.

This is my blanket. I love my blanket. My grandma made it for me when I left for college many moons ago! It's very versatile. I use it as a blanket (of course!), a pillow, I cover my eyes with it when the sun comes up at 5am, you name it! My blanket has a cousin back at my parent's house. My great-grandma made it for me when I was little. I don't remember when she gave it to me, but I can't remember not having it. Much to my mother's dismay I still pull it out of the closet when I'm at home. Wes calls it my Charlie Brown blanket because it's yellow and brown like Charlie Brown's shirt. Watch this space for a picture of it in a few short weeks!

Wes and I spent this afternoon in Bristol before he flew home. He had to take the picture because 1.) his arms are longer, and 2.) I was holding onto the railing I was sitting on.

Ugliest shirt ever. We couldn't work out who would actually buy this reflective polo shirt for 4.50. Then we saw a street cleaner for the city council wearing this exact shirt.

This thatched roof house is the oldest building in the village and it's right next to Emma and Cian's. No, their house isn't thatched.

Emma at the Cake in the Box. We drove along a country road until we got to this box on the side of the road. There were victoria sponge cakes and eggs inside a cooler inside the box. Apparently this is a very English thing. I like it!
